An obvious passing acquaintance with the references made. I'm not going to go into personal details about the 13 year olds in this forum, as it is a little out of order. And your constant hassle with the $ in our name and now changing us to 'spit' does nothing for your argument and makes you look ridiculous.

What is wrong with offering kids decent football opportunities so they want to play at our club. For years NB and Rangers were looked down on and now we are on the way up there seems to be all this hassle from you. What's the problem?

I thought New Brighton and Rangers looked down on each other Vim and the rest of the world hardly cared?
All in all a great result for the lads getting through to the next round of the Nike Cup. To be honest I don't really care where they come from, what really interests me is getting involved with a club that sets high standards while providing football to meet the abilities of all players. If that means people perceive we offer greater opportunities than others that then leads them to travel across town to take advantage of those opportunities then so be it, it is a competitive sport and it is up to other clubs to respond isn't it? Certainly not poaching. The ChCh academy is a separate issue, basically it was established by Mainland because the perception was that Coastal were to succesful and something had to be done to placate the other clubs who were woefully indffective in acheiving this themselves. As for Reds team, they were a great bunch, well lead and very succesfull. Some of them are still with us, some have moved on to school teams etc. While they were together as a team I for one enjoyed their games and am confident they all benefited from the experience and wish them all well. They certainly provided their share of highlights for the club in the first 3 years, every club needs teams like that so there is the challenge, get stuck in and build teams like that and stop whingeing about clubs that manage to do so. And thank you Tech for drawing with FCTwenty11 on Sunday. God bless you.
