Thanks for the honesty Ronaldoknow. I'd much prefer CS people are upfront about how they operate. A rep team (CS 13s) will generally beat a club team (even if a year older). As clubs do we want to develop 'home-grown' talent? Sure, because it is part of attracting others and helps perpetuate the next generation of the club. Mainland academy was undoubtedly a response. Will it die a natural death as other clubs get their A into G? Is football all about the club or the player? Both, IMHO. Professional academies (Everton APFA) invest in player devt so that a tiny % might end up at the club, right? Players benefit, club benefits. I'd like to see some of Red and Stroudy's teams playing MPL (and hopefully beyond) in a few years. Then I will congratulate Cstl Spt (it's just abbreviated for my horrendous typing Vim, don't get too sensitive and Southshore is a spit isn't it?) on their development program. The ends will have justified the means.
I see same accusations made of Tech's MPL side. How many of that squad are 'home-grown'? Who cares? Does it matter? The market will decide where players go (whatever level they wish to play at).
Any other attempt to 'structure' it "fairly" ends up being fraught with difficulties. "God bless the Tech lads"? Maybe, but didn't the 'market' find the right result on the weekend at nike cup?

PS the fctwenty 11 lads were cheering from the sideline "come on fc". I dearly hope they find a nickname quick because "FC" is just ripe to be abused.
