Yes Tech do not look as strong this year, but considering up half their squad form last season have gone for various reason it is not that suprising.

Up until two weeks ago it looked like it was Bays title to loose, some close to the camp willing to tell others that they were going to win all of their 21 games but their results in the last two rounds have blown that belief apart as well as altering the balance but still look to be favourites for the  title.

Bay have a testing few weeks coming up with Chch United away, Western at home then Nelson away with United the easier of the three, then face Nomads and Halswell at home and then Tech away, plus another away trip to Nelson on the final day of the season..

Bays, or Ferrymead Buys as I have heard them called in recent weeks have also made a few emenies this season so a few clubs out to lower their colours.

Hopefully it will be a five team race with the title going right to the wire with Bays, Nelson, Halswell, Western and Tech all in the mix, as so far this season both Coastal and United have not be able to win consistantly to be in the title race and of course Nomads will have their hands full with avoiding the drop.

Also depending if one or more of the top teams have a good run in the Chatham Cup as this can be a distraction from the league, also the Cup goes to a national draw a round earlier this season, at the final sixteen stage so maybe a few club treasurers will be hoping / praying for an early exit.
