Player Devt/Academy sub thread:
Ronaldoknow - I agree in principle with devt in local catchment area as it is all about developing the game in your own backyard. BUT clubs need the qualified peronnel and resources to be able to offer it. From my perspective a club has to be broad-church - ie cater for players of all abilities; but for the top 1-2% I agree they should have higher aspirations than playing in the flippin Mainland league.

And Foal, what on earth is wrong with kids having those aspirations? Bill Tuiloma is trialling for LA Galaxy and he was only as good as a current certain Coastal player of similar age when they played each other a couple of years back. Money should NEVER be a reason not to make a rep team. Mainland have a player hardship fund, don't they?
