#1 doesn't surprise at all. Its a shame someones lost their job but hopefully the issue/s are sorted.

They have been applying for funding under the Woolston Tech, Cashmere Wanderers and Cashmere Tech monikers apparently. Never mind double dipping try triple dipping.

#2 - FTC/APFA/Burnley/Whatever - it doesn't worry me as long as all of them are afforded the same respect from mainland/NZF. NTC accreditation would be ideal and instead of 16 kids getting a chance 40+ would. win win for the players, the coaches & mainland/NZF.

All academies should be based at clubs FFS. These independent academies (including the so called School of Football) are ridiculous and only serve to undermine Mainland and NZ Football, they will never get support/respect from Mainland/NZ Football because they seek to be independent therefore there is no way they should actually exist. What is it about the clubs that causes someone with too much money or a supposed connection with a club or name from the past to think that they can do so much better? Ridiculous. All they do is  undermine the efforts of all clubs. Put that same support into clubs and really see the game grow.

[quote=gings]#3 - sport is growing big time, hopefully this means it is managed & promoted better (website included). our mainland ladies are in aussie this weekend competing apparently.

Its already been mentioned but a certain ginger midfielder 10k a season @ bay$ - locked in and ready to go apparently. Will this lead Western for relegation?

He hasn't played for Western for the past 2 seasons as far as I'm aware

[quote=gings]Heard the students have picked up a few gun players from nelson/welly/overseas and are backing themselves to win Div 1 - things could get interesting if that happens.

Now that would be good for the game!
