er, well, yes, um, maybe, no, phew, could be....

Does Chch need 3x Academies

If so, is it realistic to expect the very best to all be at the same facility?

Once we start charging to train we immediately  limit the available players

Once any of us gather revenue from training kids other factors come into play

Mainland are offering a lot of really good things with this years FTC, and the rates charged is neither exorbitant or a waste. I understand arguments about "value for money" but with both comparable competition it's dirt cheap in actual $ outlay terms.

Totally agree the FTC system should be club based, this will still take a few years to get there. But where we were the SOF disaster things are 100  x  better and if people work together as opposed to lining their own pockets more improvements will be made.

FWIW I have some group listings and 1 stands out as absolutely  A+

I'd pay 3x as much to get into that line-up. Unquestionably FTC was highly successful for my kids last year, and on paper this 2013 season looks better again.

I remain optimistic FTC and Mainland will deliver better football to more kids this season. IMO a bigger push has to go the clubs, send and accommodate Div 1 Club Coaches at FTC so "knowledge transfer" may occur.
