In the junior leagues clubs can have two teams in Div1, if there is a re-grading and say the CTFC div2 team are top and get promoted to Div1. Can this happen in MPL? With CTFC and FC90210 having both div 1 and MPL teams? Only 4 points now between 1st and 4th.
As much as CashTech would love 2 teams in MPL there is deffo a rule around it. Not that rules are adhered to! It would be funny if FC got relegated and it's 2nd team gets promoted. Bet there isn't a rule around that as it would be random! Might see the best players from FC (oxymoron) start playing in Div 1 to secure promotion!
Rules regarding Div 1 are only a club with no team already in MPL can get promoted, to do so they must win it. they don't get promoted if they come second to say CTFC or FC2011. Which gives FC2011 a huge incentive to restructure their teams and go for broke in Div 1. They have 2 options here, drop players from their MPL team to help out or move them over from their PDL team. Or they throw their game against CTFC in the hope they win the league which will prevent their first team from being relegated from the MPL.
And what's going on with the Div1 table? Selwyn now have 2 teams in it?
