Mainland Premier League (Part 2)
Everyone knows The Informer is Shane De Freitas in disguise
Will be interesting to see what impact the up coming release of the review on the future of the National League has on the MPL, review likely to come out any time.
Indications is that review will recommend that the NL will have more rounds, so if it stays as a summer competition then will cut across the end of the MPL season. The impact will be major if the NP reverts back to winter but this seems unlikely, if they wish to maintan coverage on Sky.
The review also likely to look at the competitions below NL so maybe even goes as far as pushing for a regional league e.g. South Island League/ Southern League.
MPL Twitterati. What is the designated #hastag? I'm seeing #chchmpl and #mainlandmpl
Yer that might be partly my fault. AW82 mentioned that Mainland wanted to change the chchmpl hashtag as we're not just chch. There was talk about it being fed6mpl but to me that's stupid as who knows what that even means.
I reckon mainlandmpl and mainlandwpl makes sense.
That's what I'm going with without any actual official guidance from anyone.
Happy birthday Broonie

Well you do now Shushy
New Coastal logo is a bit flash. Looks like is has came from the MSL or the A-League, not everyone's cup of tea reading some of the on line / twitter comments.
Updated: Just found this on line but I think the actual logo may have the black and white details switched around.

Saturday
Midday
Universities (0) vs. Nelson Suburbs (6)
3pm
Nomads (3) vs.Cashmere Technical (6)
5pm
Western (0) vs. Coastal Spirit (6)
Varsities and Western doing it tough, both haemorrhaging goals and not a single point after 3 games, one more game without a point and the games between these 2 will sort out who gets relegated I feel. Could be one more ever present gone at the end of the season. Nomads also finding out just how hard it is to bridge the gap between qualifying and the MPL, especially on Saturday against Coastal who were there for the taking. Bays have made an impressive start taking all the points from Cashmere and Coastal, will be a litmus test for FC this Saturday.

2 Shay Ron - 2 Shay!!
early days I know but Coastal definitley need to play better.
R2 and R3 first halves have been poor
Need to hand out a pantsing this weekend.
I see Canterbury Utd's Sean Morris is off to FC2011 and not Tech. Did he not get the memo?
I also notice there is a heap of transfers to Chch Utd this year. Any reason for this? I know the juniors will more than likely be the bulk of them however it seems like there's a few international ones in there too.
Haha "coaching"..........

No joke?
CCL results:
Waimak beat Burwood 1-0
Selwyn v Chch Utd 0-0
Halswell beat Parklands 3-1
I think Christchurch United will be a bit upset now yes. All that money invested and they can't sort the basics out off the pitch. Feel sorry for their players

Too many players going to Chch Utd for a unpaid person to keep track of?
Need to spend more $ on the back room staff.
Not that hard for a team coach/manager to check to see if transfers are approved in time.
I believe even with this set back they will still breeze through this league. Selwyn looks like they are going backwards. Halswell highly unlikely to make way back into top league unless there is massive influx of players

Out of interest, what do you consider 'going backwards'?
some feel it started with the moving of the dug outs.
