Nelson Suburbs were leading Halswell 3-0 with 5 minutes to play after leading 1-0 at half time. Not a very inspiring game played in blustery conditions. Halswell were poor and for most of the game Nelson were not much better.

Like all clubs they can make as many transfers as they like up to the transfer window closes at the end of June, so long as the met the transfer regulations.

Certainly a lofty goal to produce an international superstar in the next 10 years when they can still only provide 3rd rate facilities for their players and sat on the sidelines while the U20 organizers provided funding for Linwood rugby to improve their facilities just over the road.

I watched it the other night,superb doco . Sad when you look at what happened to bexley and Garrick both football areas I loved playing at and having a beer at , a testament to both clubs that they are still going strong and looking to the future .as well as bays and other clubs who suffered

Wow, don't know this Kelly guy. The other however, wow.. Complete thug as a player at every club was involved at, and there was a few. Guess he will fit in with the mentality that seems to be present and I'm sure will get on well with their Captain no brains who lacks any kind of skill, but certainly makes up for it in the thuggery category.. Let's hope some results will come United's way, but I'm certainly not holding my breath. 2 horse race between United and Halswell, Halswell look more likely to stay up considering their experience in this situation in previous years

Mainland Football have been through a robust selection process to select a new coach for Mainland Pride women’s football team and are pleased to announce Michael de Bono has been appointed Head Coach of the Mainland Pride Football team to replace the successful Gareth Turnbull as he takes on his new role with New Zealand U17 Women’s team.The Pride are the current Champions of the NZF National Women’s League & shall commence their defence of the title in October under the new guidance of Mike de Bono.
Mike has had two previous seasons coaching the Pride & together with his personable approach he shall compliment the culture created by the highly successful group of players.
His past experience coaching in the National Women’s League, along with his knowledge of the players provided the perfect fit for him to take on the challenge.
Mike shall take up the position with immediate effect as he commences to get the squad together & confirm availability of the players from across the Federation who want to continue to work within a successful structure & organisation. With a small number of players heading away, Mike shall seek to develop the next crop of aspirational players to be part of a winning culture.
When asked about his appointment to the role, Mike responded;
“I am excited to be taking charge of the Mainland Pride team once again. Working in the women’s space has always been a passion of mine and when this opportunity presented itself I jumped at it.”

Most of the transfers would be junior aged.
Nomads having trouble getting Reserves, PDL and 18th grade team players. Their PDL team have defaulted the last three weeks due to lack of numbers and 18s playing some weeks with ten.
I understand that this is due to the National Women's KO Cup round, rather that put the reminder rounds all back a week that round will now be played at the end of the season, so at the moment some clubs have yet to play one another so will face each other twice in the final three weeks of the league. Coastal seem to be heading in the right direction development wise, with two great performances in there last two games. We were really impressed with the youngsters that have stepped up IE. Brady, Alley, de Freitas, Meysum particularly in yesterdays game. Thought they totalled outplayed uni n should have won 10 nil if it wasn't for some awful finishing upfront. Maybe add a good finisher upfront...hopefully Macca makes a comeback soon. Xavier has them playing an attractive brand of football n should they hold onto these young players I reckon in a year or two they will be challenging for honors. Thought I should add not just poor finishing up front but Pieter Taco pulled off a few outstanding saves.
