Match Summary: A protest was lodged by Halswell United against Nomads United for the playing of ineligible players within this match (four first team players). The protest was upheld with the result overturned to a 3-0 forfeit win to Halswell United.
Yer interesting, I wondered how this league was going to work with the two reserve teams, especially with lots of weeks of Chatham Cup or Sunday games so you could easy add first team players. Is there an actual rule about numbers of players that could be dropped to a reserve team? As the nature of a reserve team is obviously being able to drop people into to get game time...
I believe under the current statues of the league, 3 are allowed to drop down.
21.4 Up to a maximum of three players may be regraded from a clubs higher league team to a lower league team providing the team is the ‘next’ possible team i.e Southern League to the Reserve team. Players may not move beyond ‘one team’ from where they would be classified.VimFuego

Why are there no games this weekend, it looks like Southern League is the only comp that has a game? Why no Premiership or higher league games? I get it's a holiday weekend and school hols etc, but would be good to get more support to a first team game for Waimak, Halswell, Western, Parklands etc

How do they know or decide who is 1st team or not? There will be a number of players at most clubs who are between the 1st and reserve teams or starting to step up and make a few appearances for the 1st team.
Western 0 Cashmere Technical Reserves 5 (Finbar Gallaway 3, Alex Ballard, Yusuf van Dam) HT 0 - 3
Interesting scenes at Kendall as the ball was headed over the keeper and through a hole in the net, the ref decided it must have missed the net and gone over as I assume he wasn't watching. Lots of chats with the lino, 2 yellows for Waimak players for arguing, and a stunned crowd, and a goal kick was given.
Lino told us a bit later when we were standing right behind him, and making comment about it that he'd advised the ref it was a goal but the ref over-ruled him.
Updated table, I have added the Possible Points (PP) column on the right of the table so after today' round Universities are just 4 points away from taking the title and Western are confirmed in bottom place.

Any intel on what this means for the make up/format of the Canterbury Men's Championship this season?
8 teams? AllWhites82
Will be a 10 team CPL over 18 Rounds this season.

10 team competition still. Cash Tech and Nomads have each made U20 teams to go into CCL (with both teams' reserves in CPL) and a Selwyn team that won 16/17 games in Division 1 has been promoted to CCL.
