So yes iot seems the narrative is wrong. Paramount have paid less from Season 2, after the APL failed to hit certain bench marks in Season 1, but since then the deal (amount paid by Paramount) has remained unchanged.
It's the APL now wanting to pay the clubs a smaller share of that deal, for next season.
