Hilton did ok, but it was quite obvious that he struggles to kick the ball over half way for some reason.
I also don’t think distribution is his forte so a lot to work on there but it’s probably fixable.
Irrespective of Mays concussion he was absolutely shocking which has been representative of his season. No way that he is signed again.
Despite a couple of poor finishes Brook was excellent as was Elliot. Considering first game back thought Nando did ok as well.
Ref had a shocker.
Brook was unusually poor for a player of his track record to date. No complaints about his distribution and a general "attacking midfield" positioning and tackling. It is what he could not do with a ball in front of the goal that disappointed me.
Poor old May. From blocking an otherwise unstoppable shot on Adelaide goal to playing on while probably concussed after a triple whammy in a collision. And then he nearly got himself sent off after a stupid (luckily very brief) throat grabbing in a melee.
Conversely I though Elliot had an excellent game especially second half. He is a very different player now from the one I remember at the Nix. And good to see Sakai playing again, although the circumstances in the late second half were hardly conducive to good football.
Considering the circumstances, I think the rookie goalie (Hinton) did very well, especially with his awareness and decision-making. I agree his goalkicks are yet to reach the expected distance - could be worked on.
There is something different about the Cooper's Stadium from other venues. Listening to the broadcast I often expect that at some point there will be a mob with pitchforks and burning torches invading the pitch, and at least one attempt to chase the opposition players with a length of the goalpost.
