Mariners lost their last AFC Champions League Elite match last night 2-0 to Kawasaki Frontale.

It means they finished bottom of the East standings with only 1 point from the 8 matches.

In a combined East and West table they would still be last as the last placed West team Al Ain (Last year's champions) finished with 2 points.

Not a great campaign for them, but I suppose they will be glad the long travel and extra matches are over so they can focus on trying to sneak in to the top 6 domestically.

Sydney FC play the 2nd leg of their Round of 16 tie in Bangkok at 1am tomorrow morning NZ time
