Coria saying the right things. That word community gain. He did win two ALM Grand Finals as head coach, not one. Plus got SFC into another GF as gaffer. One of the better ALM coaching CVs going around.
I just want his first 09 squad containing more Kiwis, than Aussie journeymen. Makes sense for Greeny to be based up north closer to Albany if he's to become the next NZ U20s coach.

In a statement, Corica said he was “really excited” about joining the new Auckland club, backed by American billionaire Bill Foley, who heads the Black Knight Football group that also owns English Premier League club Bournemouth and has a stake in French Ligue Un club FC Lorient.
“It has all the ingredients needed to succeed, both on the pitch and in the community.
“We want to build a club that is known for its attacking and entertaining style of football and Aucklanders are proud to call their own.”
Corica said Foley was “passionate about creating pathways for young talented Kiwis to firstly succeed in the A-League and then go overseas with the other clubs in the group.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity for everyone involved.”
The appointment of Corica follows that of his former Sydney team-mate Terry McFlynn as the new club’s director of football earlier this month.
Now they have a men’s head coach as well, they will set about assembling a squad, with their first pre-season set to begin next July.
Players coming off contract at the end of the current A-League season can be spoken to by other clubs – such as Auckland – from January 1.
Incumbent Phoenix reserves coach Chris Greenacre is believed to have been in the running for the Auckland job before missing out to Corica.
He is understood to be in NZ Football’s sights to be their new national under-20 men’s coach in the lead-up to the 2025 FIFA Under-20 World Cup.
Corica should easily be able to form a relationship with All Whites coach Darren Bazeley, as the two were team-mates at Walsall in England.
