Plenty allowed to happen in the backyard around Eden Park. Imagine plopping down the league 9s or a Six60 concert on Mt Hobson or in Ponsonby or along the wealthy suburbs there. Or even a night time ABs test. Then you’d find out about NIMBY’s I’m fairly sure! Just look at the amount the league club in super gentrified Grey Lynn gets the police called on them for existing.
