The fever is more or less a-political…. unless you’d count initiatives like rainbow fever but i’d argue that’s just us not being sharky people.

I don't know whether it's a culture clash between AKL and WGN, but simply because of the success of Rainbow Fever, I've always felt the YF at a whole is "liberal" if not leftie. The people who *did* think it was funny to use homophobic chants decamped to the Thorndon Terrace.
Probably best to leave politics out of football. I go to the football to drink beers and support my team, not use football to throw my political beliefs down people’s throats.

But the more fundamental issue is: one woman's "not being a cod" is another woman's "how dare you shove this woke PC garbage down my throat while I'm trying to watch these p**fs play football"
