Key point being, as you say, that’s simply demographics and market size. When the Nix were in Auckland they had bigger crowds.

The Sevens is a gimmick, not a sports team that requires supporting.

The Nix supporters have been absolutely top notch in my opinion. Wellington gets a lot of bellyaching of late. And it looks like it’s going to get another succession of mayors who don’t wanna pay for an infrastructure through rates, blessed be the NIMBYs for they vote and complain. Given the perhaps unnecessarily harsh economic conditions of late and the lack of respect and treasuring of our capital, the Nix turn out has been top notch.
Wellington used to be a byword for culture and positivity as someone brought up in another thread. Now it’s a whipping boy and a good way to stick it to the Libtards. Which does nothing for the country imo, much like letting foreigners back into the property market and privatising healthcare or a myriad of other things. Unfortunately the 90s/00s, DVDs, Lord of the Rings and the multiplex, were things that met Peter Jackson and can’t be replicated. And trying to simply repeat them has been a failure as the culture has moved on. Though Jim Cameron has multiple times turned the norms on their head, but that moment in Wellington hasn’t arrived.

Anyway, my point being is that the Nix fans have been bloody good through thick and thin in the dramas in the game and the buzz from outside the game or not and the fact that a whole bunch of the Auckland fanbase are ex-Nix fans probably means they’ll be alright too.
