With all due respect to my fellow Nix followers - sorry but nobody is going to define for me what a Nix fan should or should not be saying doing or supporting, on a day when Nix is not playing
If you think for a moment that the Nix-hate we experienced from the Australian supporters (and pundits) over the years has anything to do with Wellington, you are misguided.  Their scorn and disdain was based on national identities.  It has always been Kiwi-bashing. It is still is, except they've learned to respect at least one team from New Zealand, albeit grudgingly.  I look forward to the same respect being gained by the Nix which I have supported over many years and continue to do so.
I have never lived in Auckland, but I lived in Sydney well over a decade, all my twenties and early thirties.  But I would prefer Auckland to win tonight, because after 34 years in Christchurch I am an adoptive New Zealander first, and Auckland winning would be good for New Zealand football.
If you do not believe me, check out today's Stuff article and read the comments underneath. A bloke was seriously saying that if Auckland wins it will make "soccer" even more popular, and what will happen to rugby then since we do not have enough good sportspeople for both codes.
Seriously.
Agree with this.

If you really don't want AFC to win tonight, don't support NZ at the WC too (as you don't want what is best for NZ Football).

A win for AFC is bigger than any rivalry we have with them, because I guarantee if it was us vs Sydney, we'd have more support from the AFC fan base.

Us fans really need to be worried about the future of useless David Dome (who the mens aren't winning instead of the result of the GF we aren't part of).

I say this because ever since AFC have entered the comp, we have been second best with poor decision after decision and I want us to win games and silverware.
