Still struggling to see how 12 and a half minutes average a game for a player who had no output is such a bug bear for you.

I suspect you may get more fired up this year as I think that AFC could have used it a lot more creatively to benefit both teams and will do so this year.

Sure, the competition is great for AFC and gives them a serious competitive advantage on so many levels over the Nix. That’s not in dispute.

The Australians have their own advantages.

Most importantly what the Nix is missing out on is a  very concrete pathway for the academy kids who can’t quite crack the A league squad. The mothers and fathers who will be shipping their kids to Wellington and paying for them to be in the academy are probably doing so with some dreams of one day their little Jonny maybe having a crack at pro football.

If they make the OFC squad and go no further the Nix could put their hand on their heart and say they had a good go but didn’t quite make it.

That’s what the Nix is really missing out on and the pathway is even more important to their model then AFC’s.

I think your beef should be with the powers that be that couldn’t convince OFC to let them in after 20 years in business and perhaps took the whole thing for granted.
