My experience, and looking at other clubs, tells me that there's a bit of a glass ceiling at the middle of the championship. Getting from the sort of 3.5-4 star players and 30,000 seat stadium level to the next stage up is really hard because unless you get lucky several times in your youth academy you simply can't generate enough cash to really improve your squad from that point. At least that's how I see it, dunno if anyone else feels the same way.
