Sad to say the Phoenix, through no fault of their own, are peeing in the wind when it comes to increasing support beyond the committed. Two of my friends with soccer mad kids who live in Raumati didn't go to the game on Sunday. They couldn't even give any reason, never mind a good reason for not going. Sadly, increasing support is based on the tried and true Kiwi Way, winning games and titles

from my memories of kids and football, parents are absolutely pleased to have a few weekends off sport between seasons

not turning up for a Nix preseason may be more about busy and tiring parenthood than anything else

But in-season games to watch a winning team may well still be a priority for some/many

Me - still hopeful that crowds will build significantly if we play well and win.  We've plumbed the depths the last couple of years, even I started to think about missing games and not renewing a foundation membership.

though I could be totally wrong and we get worse #antijinxs

But I would still think that doesn't necessarily mean they won't come to season games, or some of them
