Some of our support, in a nutshell:

We sign a striker as an injury replacement, on a short term loan

Someone else might have said it already, but I'm sure that we once signed some guy called Shane Smeltz, who was playing non-league in the UK at the time. If I remember rightly, he was alright.
Just noticed that charliec made the same point earlier, but I won't delete this, I'll leave it here as antidote to all the "non-league = not very good then" stuff that's floating around
