I reckon offering him a 1+1 kinda deal with a planned back office defense (assistant) coach or mentor role within the club would be attractive to him and useful to the team. He'd be a great club man to have around helping the defensive players in the team build their skills.

Assuming of course the finances stack up for both parties..
