Hardly surprising with NZ in Level 4. Someone speculated that some youngsters from the Northern League (Melville & Birko) were to trial??

Welnix took a big financial hit last season, and this season's start looks similarily sharkhouse. So why contract more players, and pay their wages when they can't even train. Might as well leave the extra financial wages drain as late as Talay will tolerate, to get a full squad.

See that the Europen transfer window is to close 11pm BST (6pm ET) this Tuesday August 31. So after that might be a few uncontracted visa players floating around needing a home, prepared to consider travelling down under to a country that has loads of Covid complications moving to, for players and their families.
