Before the Olympics I thought Stanger was better than Pijnaker.
After Olympics I changed my mind.
Thought he was class at the U20 World Cup, it’s definitely a match fitness thing.
I reckon he needs to pick up game time at a league one/league two side or even do a Michael McGlinchey and make a move to the A-League.

Pijnaker went into the Olympics with maybe even less match fitness than Stanger. From memory Stanger was involved in a howler with Woud against Honduras, which rocked the confidence of both.
A move to yes a League Two club for young George maybe on the cards. However is that much lower than the Scottish 2nd tier (Championship)?? But yeah a whole complete sea change, moving downunder and some sun on that pasty Scottish skin could be worth a crack for him. His dad met his Kiwi mum in a Sydney pub, which sounds touch more romatic than Wee Mac's birth on a Petone roundabout.
Scottish 2nd tier arguably lower then League 2. Many Scottish Prem players only end up in League 1 when they head south.
This year: Edouard to Palace, Christie to Bournemouth, Ajer to Brentford, Oko-Flex to WestHam, Leo Hjelde to Leeds, Vincent Angelini to Watford, Olivier Ntcham to Swansea, Allan Campbell to Luton, Nathan Young-Coombes to Brentford, Dapo Mebude to Watford, Ali McCann to PNE.
I strongly suspect you are English - and no, I'm not a Scot.
Feel like both the younger players you mentioned and any Celtic/Rangers players don't count, as we know how good those teams are and talented youth can crop up anywhere to be poached from bigger clubs. In the lower half, we see plenty of teams sign English non-leaguers to get regular gametime, and return back to England at the same level. The league is obviously very imbalanced, and though there are arguably two EPL-level teams in there, lesser teams in the league are absolutely around League 2 level.
His other point about the Scottish Championship is correct - I'd put its level at around the National League overall. Rory McKeown was a regular at Championship club Morton after arriving from 7th-tier Warrington, then became a bit-part player for 7th-tier Leiston the following season before coming over here. Earlier in his career, he was a week-in-week-out regular for Raith, moved to League 2 Accrington and didn't play a single game the next season. Even just looking at loanees to all the Scottish Championship clubs, the majority of the English ones are players who have at maximum played two or three games in League One or Two.
Anyway, back on topic, yeah I'm 100% for Stanger. Better than McGing, would be a great experience for the kid
