I mean, fair enough if true, and while he's not been the same player he was in his first stint with the nix it still adds to the sentiment that being "contracted" doesn't really mean anything

I think as employers the nix are very accommodating. Especially when it comes down to personal stuff, like family, illness etc. A contract is only as tough as the people involved want to make it. I'm sure if we wanted to force Hooper to stay and see out his contract we could, but why would you keep a player around if he couldnt give you everything.
