its cost versus value...and at the moment it doesnt stack up..all codes seem to be suffering
My random punt is that Wgtn is more cost sensitive than most other places in NZ at the moment. A lot of the employment is from gummnt depts and they have been shedding staff like a bulimic shedding dinner.
In absolute terms the cost of tickets is very very reasonable and certainly good value (except when we play pants).

Compared to the past few seasons, they crowds are not down. We have had 2 games where the weather forecast leading up to the game wasn't good, what doesn't help. One of the weather affected games was also long weekend, when a lot of people would have been out of town.
Numbers should pick up over December & January with the Nix Six deals, and better weather.
I have to admit those crowd figures you've shown above are pretty good for NZ football. I doubt you'd get better with an A League team in either Auckjland or Christchurch on a regular basis. Taking the Nix to Auckland for a one off game was probably not a fair comparison because there would obviously have been a lot of extra promotion involved and also the added novelty affect. Probably weather plays more of a part in Wellington because of those cold winds.
It's just a shame the hardy regular Phoenix supporters don't have the comforts of a compact purpose-built football stadium. Even a healthy 12,000 crowd still leaves Westpac stadium 2/3 empty and that's not a good look. It's just too big unless it's a playoff game.
I hope you go on a good run and enthuse the part-time supporters.
