Gotta say, Ernie's gotten even more cred in my book by admitting that part of the fault on Sunday was his for playing the same tactics as against Newcastle and hoping the Heart wouldn't notice. Does anyone remember Ricki ever saying "I ballsed it up, I played the wrong tactics"?
Even if Ricki ever attempted to say something like that it never would have come out of his mouth like that. It would have been something more like:
"I think that, really, if you look at this group, and the experience both within and outside of, but also looking inwards towards the group, then probably the accountability that the individuals within the group have, really, collectively as a group, but also individually as individual members of a group, then I think that, to be honest, probably this group's responsibility/accountability matrix was out of alignment with the mission that this group had a collective responsibility to execute today. If I'm honest, without sugar-coating it, you choose what you choose and people can escalate that if they like, but ultimately, probably, we've all taken it incredibly deeply, and will learn to rectify it, really, although probably it's a blessing in disguise".
