Wasn't Manny on the podcast saying (words to the effect of) "I'm a right back" ?
Manny said that he wants to play RB, because the team is better when he plays there. Merrick said that he likes Manny as a DM, which hopefully means he has a transfer target in mind to play RB.
I don't believe Manny has ever said he wants to be a right back. Quite the opposite.
Pretty sure Manny is on record telling YOU that he will play right back next season as that's where the team thinks he is more effective. Ernie then came into the Phoenix press conference saying he thinks Manny is a decent midfielder.
Thank you for proving my point exactly. He said he would play there because that's where the team needed him. He did not say he wanted to be or preferred to be one.
"I was glad I moved back to right back ... When the new coach comes in, I think I'll mention to him that "Look, I prefer right back", just the fact that the players around me feel more comfortable". - In the Zone 57 (22:00ish).
So yeah, he's stated a preference to play at right back, but it's not because he enjoys playing RB more than DM.
