I'm fairly excited about this, guys with pace do tend to do quite well in this league and he's shown quite a bit in the last few games.

Realistically, why would we re-sign Ifill to rehab with us?  Surely you wait and see whether he can play again before making a decision - I think the likelihood of him appearing for us if very slim.  I'm a massive fan of him but I think it's very unlikely.

I hope we leave a roster spot open for him. Give him the pre-season to prove he is still up to it. He wouldn't be a 90m player but with the larger benches now, he could give us a valuable 20-30m spell when we need some inspiration.

Look at where we are right now with injuries, you need your squad - I just don't think you can carry a player who can't play 90 minutes.

Our injury problems are at fullback and we have a massive lack of depth in the midfield. We have 5 roster spots (4 if we re-signed Ifill) to fix those issues. Timmins, Gulley, Burfoot maybe are options for those.

But up front we have a lot of depth with Boyd, Brockie, Krishna signed up and we are trying to keep Huysegems. So if we did retain Ifill he would be the 5th choice and we don't need 90 minutes from a 5th choice option.

Yes but a contracted player is one less player you don't have in another position.  You could argue that we don't need a 5th choice striker in a squad of 23.  Anyway, let's see if he can get back to match fitness, then think about whether we offer him a contract.  He can rehab on the PFA cash!

Back to Krishna, I feel genuinely pleased for him.  He seems like one of ours even those he both not a kiwi and an Aucklander
