How disappointing. Easily the most talented CM we've ever had. He was the one shining light this season most of the time.
Sounds like he never really got settled and i'd question why this was - he seemed perfectly happy in Melbourne. I wonder if we didn't really help his family settle enough.
People have been ragging on him for being 'sulky' but wouldn't you be if your family wasn't given enough help settling in? I know I'd be pretty moody too.
Guy played at maybe half his capacity with a team full of people that could barely be called 'footballers' and still topped out assists contribution. He will be missed on the field.
I don't agree, when I came over my employers payed for my flights and offered a couple of weeks accommodation which I thought was perfectly reasonable.
What else did you expect? Buy a house for him? Pay for English lessons for the family? Maids, personals assistants, personal interpreters?
I'd get it if he cost 85 million like Bale, you can afford to pamper someone when the money is that ridiculous.

Also didn't Carlos play in Australia? I know there are differences but it's hardly the same as playing in Aussie and then playing in Mongolia. I mean Wellington is like a small Melbourne anyhow with a poorer nightlife and not as many shops after all.
