I would respectfully disagree. He has a World Cup size ego, but would not make the Roar first team, Wanderers first team, and quite possibly the CCM (Mariners) first team as these teams rely not just on individual skill but on high individual mobility.
It is my impression that Carlos went to India because he could not keep up with the pace of the game at MV and because the money on offer was good. But he probably knew he would not make the Costa Rican WC team if he stayed in India, hence he answered Ricki's phone call.
