Before Krishna was injured we had the best start of the season in our history, we are just a couple of starting players and a bit of depth short of a top squad. This year we had pretty much the same team as last year but missing a couple of players and done depth so that makes sense.

Not just the Krishna injury but Sigmund as well. Those 2 fit all season and someone like Kosta instead of Sarpong and it could have been a very different season.

Because of the salary cap and squad size restrictions 3 or 4 players can make a massive difference to a team too.

Yup, Take Fornarolli or Mooy out of City and they start looking a lot less impressive

All A-League clubs are very reliant on two or three players.

We were heavily reliant on Krishna, Bonevacia and Burns - Burns left, wasn't replaced adequately, and Krishna got injured. Roly had to shoulder too much of the burden. Despite Roly's obvious skill, he still isn't a natural goal scorer. (but does have a taste for the spectacular)

I'm hoping with Krishna, Bonevacia and Kosta all fit and firing we'll be a bigger force next season.

I do think a good import defender at the calibre of a Zwaanswijk or a Delpierre would completely change the way this team plays out from the back too. Easier said than done to find that kind of player however.
