Have we signed an established A-League fullback before?

John McKain and Jade North were both centre-backs, right?

Pleased to see no whining about "why are we hiring Aussie youngsters rather than developing Kiwi lads" this time.

I reckon the best way to develop a younger player, apart from good coaching, is to have them in a squad training with a respected, talented role model in their position.  If that means we need an Aussie or an import to set the standard for up and coming kiwi youngsters, then all good in my book.  And I have no problem that we are signing a younger Aussie to do that (as well as to start and contribute to a winning team), particularly on a one year contract.

It's up to the kiwi youngsters to meet Galloways level, and to show the fight and grit and application to get there, or at least to get close enough to be worthy starters.

We might be a team looking to provide a pathway for kiwi talent as one of our objectives, but we're not a charity.

Just the way I see it.
