This bigtime. Causes enough issues having them as a sponsor.LOL

Wait, what? Is this out-and-out Yellow Peril xenophobia?

FFS really some of you people are just pathetic, more than a little sick of that type of card being played constantly on here with no sanction. Particularly when its pretty obvious that is not the intended meaning

Herein lies the problem, I don't consider myself part of the knee-jerk reaction brigade but I certainly think Mainland's comment is tinged with anti-Chinese racism. Just because its a view held my many doesn't mean the undertone isn't there. If he meant something different, why not say "I would rather not have foreign owners of the club" With some forms of racism, the racist don't actually realise what they are.

There is a difference between a large commercial sponsor (foreign/multinational/whatever), and a large foreign/multinational/whatever owner.  I would accept your criticism as valid if you heard me - ever - disagreeing with Huawei being our sponsor.

Instead, I find your criticism to be an example of the common and well-meaning, but nonetheless daft, "knee-jerk" type logic.  I pointed out an example of Bakhri group as a case of poor foreign ownership, in response to another poster suggesting Chinese consortium as an owner/investor for us.  In other words, someone discussed a specific country consortium as a potential owner, and when I disagreed, it made me a xenophobe in your eyes, unless I promptly explained myself.

There is a big difference between calling people threatening and fearsome because they are slanty-eyed, and calling the idea of ownership by a large Chinese consortium a possibly bad one. This is especially that I based it - in the same sentence - on an example of what happened (and is still happening) at Brisbane Roar, a club bought by a large Indonesian consortium.

Racism is a big word with sharp edges. Wield it carefully.

Good attempt - a pity you used an Indonesian ownership that hasn't worked at one club to dismiss 'foreign' ownership at the Nix. The likes of Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool are doing really badly under foreign ownership. Likewise, Inter Milan is doing terribly under its Indonesian owner.
