It will be very interesting to see shortly what the  clubs attitude to renewing current contracts will be.

A number of young kiwis are shortly off contract who have had decent seasons.

Seasons which indicate they can cut it at this level in the starting team or at worst be a decent a-league squad player (McCallawat, Elliot, Hudson) 

Think all deserve another contract.

The clubs decision is sign them now or take a risk and keep them dragging for a few more months and only offer and sign them just prior to when they are needed (saving them a few weeks wages) which appears to have been the mode of operation in other years

The risk however is the likes of McCallawat or Elliot might explore their options in a lower European league and we lose them for good.

Then we have to take a punt and sign young Ausi players who may not be any better (Scott, Mcgling etc)

In recent times I have seen some vision by the owners but in the aftermath of Covid, I don’t know
