Totally agree he has had a rough couple of years. But in professional sport this is beyond defence IMHO. Nothing short of life ban if guilty. It cannot be anything else, if only to deter others taking the same path.
Can't see it being a life ban... maybe a year and a fine? What do they do in the UK for this sort of thing?
Tonali and Toney are the most recent ones from the UK and got around a year ban with a fine but that was against them betting on football games rather than actually doing anything during a game to make the bet win irrc.
So not sure if that would change what the punishment would be?

I'd say the bans coming will be career ending from a playing perspective - even for the 27 year old. Unless they can prove diminished responsibility or some such due to the powerful influence of Uli.
