Why did Chiefy abandon it if it was so successful?

At the end of the day it was a very risky approach, the risk backfired massively, it was a big waste of time. It is the job of those at the very top of organisations to manage risk. It was a wild gamble by a rookie coach who was out of his depth and I think it is a fair question to ask if they would allow such a thing to happen again. 

Edit: also, Chiefy isnt the CEO, Domey is!
