One of the guys I nearly gave my Brandon's Random Act of Kindness ticket too for the last home game was an Indian guy. He refused the ticket, because (in his words) he was definitely going, was willing and able to pay, and would rather I gave the ticket to someone who wouldn't otherwise go.
He said he had never been to a live Phoenix match. It was going to be his first time. He lived in Upper Hutt and played seniors football for Wainuiomata - he used to live there - and still played there because he was involved in the club with his mates (many of whom were thenically Indian too). He said they all followed the Phoenix, but that none of them had been to a game before, but they were all going as a team this time and were all really excited about it.
I have a large number of Indian friends who are sports mad. I play in a cricket team where I am the token white guy and the rest are all Indians. I am working on getting them along to the Phoenix... we've NEARLY got there a couple of times...
