Beside the fact that in his senior career he's shown nothing to suggest he could be a successful player in the A-league (unlike Fenton, who was a star at ASB Premiership level, and impressed enough at VPL level to be on Melbourne Heart's radar), what's the point of bringing a loanee of that calibre on a 3-month deal, when we are committed to 5 other players playing in or around that same position, for at least one more season?

Just makes absolutely no sense to me.

Gameiro is on the radar of an EPL side and is an AU u20 rep. Much the same in comparison... Fenton was a very good player in the ASB league but would not have called him a star. Henry and Cheriton did more for your lads last year than Fenton (thats not to say Fenton is crap but he was not a 'star')

On the radar of an EPL club? He played zero games for Fulham, 8 games for FC Eindhoven, and then dropped all the way down to the Conference South to play in Woking for Hayes and Yeading.

This kid is of a similar pedigree to Fenton. He played national age group football for his country, and did okay, and at rural club level in Aussie he rose up the ranks quite young. Just like Louis. Similar to say, Pavs.

Since then, nothing about his story is very impressive. But he's young, and if he is enthusiastic he might have a great impact with us. I have my fingers crossed.

Thats the point I was kinda making. His pedigree is similar to Fentons and look how that young lad turn out (remember his debut?) I'm not having a crack at your boy at all Smithy. Its more 'why are we rubbishing a player who has yet to do anything'. He could well be the business or the a pile of shit. We do not know. Let the kid play then either build him up or tear him down FFS
