It's almost like you want the Mariners to play well instead of avoiding the wooden spoon..

Yes I would like them to play well, for sake of their supporters, and to be beaten soundly by a better team, for our own sake.   No harm in them holding the wooden spoon (would give Greenie something to boast about in his own quiet way).

They are a good club with a very stingy owner. However, I do not wish them to be given the kind of crap dished out by Robbie Slater as in "who deserves to be in the league" based on a bad season or two.
