Hard to believe we are only 6th. Damn Adelaide, lose or draw sometime will you!

26 points after 16 games would have had us 3rd in the 17/18, 16/17, 11/12 seasons, 4th in the 14/15, 13/14, and 12/13 seasons. and 6th in the 15/16 season.

Highlights how much of a gulf there is atm.

Reading today's The Australian, Greg O'Rourke at FFA is a bit worried about the gulf now between top 6, and bottom 4.

Meaning with 11 rounds still to go, there is going to be a number of potentially meaningless fixtures involving the bottom 3 teams. He hasn't given up on Newcastle just yet, but obviously a host of nothing games is not great for the sport. Wonder if it will play some part in discussions about creating a 2nd division, and possible pro/rel.

He also had some nice things to say about 'feelgood revival' of the Nix.

Everyone is looking at the bottom four but ignoring that this is the closest top six we have had for awhile. 11 points between 1st and 6th is the second lowest difference after 16 rounds since WSW joined, only one lower was when Adelaide came from last to win it (7 points).

We have 3 teams chasing the Premiership and 3 teams that will be very competitive when the finals roll around.
