Gosh, look at you.

Hate to see you after a loss.

Have another read of my comments. I was being very nice about your table.

You definitely need to send it to Chief.

I don’t quite know what that interesting table is meant to show but sure.

Love the ITR interpretation and little comments however.

You should send this to Chief to use next time he is up for a contract extension and negotiation

The point being, Moriarty- or Dick Dastardly I assume the moustache is the same in either case, it’s nothing to do with Chief.

I’m pointing out that we’re not some pariah club amongst all this hand wringing. In the last ten years we’re similar or better than a number of teams in comparable circumstances.

And I’m not arguing that we shouldn’t expect more, especially if we look over the lifetime of the club where I think we’re marginally behind the curve on success.

But that’s not what was said. There was wailing and gnashing of teeth that we’d paid staff out and we had bad times.

A lot of clubs have messy clean outs of staff or of managers. Adelaide had a DoF v manager stoush. Manager lost. WSW doesn’t seem a happy camp right now.

A lot of clubs in the league have had rough times. Rough times can lead to recriminations and fallings out. That’s football. When you fail, it’s very publicly. Often ego and thick skin to criticism is required for success and big egos break hard when they do fail, invariably hurting people. And for lesser lights with fragile egos it can be worse.

This is normal for a football club from time to time. We’re just being a football club and pretty much what’s normal for not being Melbourne V or C or Sydney.

What you and some others are saying  is we should do better or should have done better. Different argument. Different questions.

All I’m saying is that having a staff clean out after a bad season and that involving negotiations on terms doesn’t mean we’re somehow terrible, it just means we’re a football club.

It is unusual for a manager to be retained in those circumstances, but I have the feeling you’re already aware of that. And again a different discussion.

The club is bigger than Chief, though, however this season turns out.

Having a manager who is unpopular with parts of the fan base fighting for their job is also a fairly normal thing in football.

You need to offer your consultancy to Rob pro-bono. Good way to get your foot in the door when you desperately want a job I’ve heard.
