Read recently in the Polish sports newspaper a low-key comment from Kopa's partner (forgot her last name but it is not Kopczynska) that they were looking forward to seeing family in Warsaw as she missed her Mum - but no idea whether it was a permanent return or a holiday. The snippet was about womens rugby and not about Michal Kopczynski.

Like most, I do not rate Kopa at his original position of DM, but that was also his case at Legia, where he slowly slipped down from a preferred candidate to a third choice at DM, since a new coach took over. So it might be that being converted to a CB is a key for him to reinvent himself back home in Warsaw. I cannot see ourselves paying his full wages; and you'd be mad to.

The guy is not good in the air and does not tackle.

He holds back from attackers and tries to intercept balls with his positioning, something he is quite good at. That approach won't cut it in the back line for him, because he is too slow to deal with quick attackers and can't stop crosses.

He's average and there are better, cheaper options.

To his credit, I thought his passing from CB was very good and was a big reason why we went on the winning run in the middle of the season.

Absolutely agree with him being a factor in that mid-season run. Unfortunately he was also a big factor in our end of season slump, he was particularly awful in the Adelaide and Brisbane games

Not sure I quite agree. The whole team (manager included) were pretty honking for those two games. Everyone made individual errors that cost goals, and ultimately fourth spot.  If he was willing to take a huge paycut, yep, happily have him back unless we had someone that was guaranteed better than him

Totally agree with Wandersing Sheep here, and it is simply unfair to single Kopa out considering we also had Williams playing unfamiliar RB role and that Golec was his partner in the defence. Oh, and also that little bit of adverse impact when the gaffer said pre-game that he would leave in a couple of games.
