Adding to the comments about McCowatt maybe not being ready as being suggested on here...
His goal scoring record is better than Krishna's at the same level - and arguably, that level is now harder and more professional than what it was 5 years ago. I think he can come in and start and be an influence within the right set up.
Krishna tended to run in behind the line to get balls, which made it harder to link up with his fellow attackers. McCowatt, lacking that raw pace, tends to run across the line looking to get in behind off quick one two's or to get the ball in a pocket of space to take defenders on. Quite different, but out of the two, McCowatts relationship with Singh would be the more natural IMO. That fact alone excites me.
Pace is more transferable to a higher stage and harder to defend against.
Haven't watched a lot of McCowatt. How would he compare to say Smeltz?
Definitely a bit different, can play across a front 3 (played RW for Auckland and Suburbs) and is much better technically than Smeltz + very keen to take players on with the ball knowing he can slide past them.
Would compare him to a slower Kosta.
