Wouldn't touch him with a 10 foot pole. Still a prick and so far past his best he isn't worth paying any money to. Let's get the import striker we need then see what gaps are needing to be filled - Clayton Lewis would be nice, and maybe Berisha at that point if he's heap to add depth and competition but if we sign him as our mian goalscorer I can see us winning the spoon.
No one is suggesting we sign him as our first option striker though, and I'm 100% certain that includes Uffie. As a bench option he could be pretty handy though, and as others mentioned he could teach Waine and McCowatt a thing or two. He knows where the net is, and the reason he didn't score was because he wasn't even playing, he was injured and then out of favour with the coach. I hated him at roar and victory but even at this age he would be a pragmatic signing as a role player in the wider squad
I'm concerned that we
are looking at him as our first striker option, and I'm concerned he'd want the wages of one as well. Ufuk has talked about the "last piece of the puzzle" and we've had no further rumours or movement on an import striker. I'm far more open to it if he's available for cheap and as depth but currently don't feel that that's the most likely option.
I think he'd perform similarly to Smeltz and Burns on their respective returns - ie, not worth the time taken away from developing McCowatt and Waine. I'm sure he'll give 100%, I'm just worried about what 100% looks like when he's been unable to convince a coach he deserves to play in 18 months.
