Any 'rebuilding' excuse is a total cop out. Western United are a brand new club and aiming for the playoffs, so should we. It may be that we stuffed up and haven't signed the right players, but let's be honest about that and not hide behind 'rebuilding'.

You are probably looking at an orange verus apple scenario

How much have WU spent on player wages as opposed to the Nix?

Rudan maybe a Judas, so who knows for sure, but if he made a shot at Welnix for not spending enough, and then moved to WU - would seem his new team has a bigger wages budget. Maybe much bigger.

Who are the backers/owners of WU? Are they more passionate about football than Welnix? So therefore willing to open the wallet more, on a likely loss making 'investment'.

Seems WU have a mixed private/public funding model, with help from Victorian State Govt?

Are WU more concerned with the short term, and trying to make playoffs in their first season, so building a fan base more quickly?

Without knowing answers to all the above, can't compare Nix to the Bitumens.
