Pretty dire. Uffie and Dome kept saying that the club was offered heaps of talented strikers, but that they were going to be picky and get the one that they believe is the best fit for the club. But I'll level with you guys, I'd rather we bring in a striker that might not be the absolute right guy but can still play solid, rather than play half of the season without a 9 at all. I've really liked some of the signings we have made so far - the young Kiwis filling up our squad is what many of us have always wanted, Steinmann and Ball look really tidy, Marinovic was a good get. But failing to sign a first team quality striker in 5 months of off-season is pretty disappointing from the club, massive fail there. Sure they had an A and B choice close to signing before other circumstances got in the way, but it was left really late anyway. For a team that seems to just try to cross and and play long balls into the box when the opposition defence is deep and compact like the Bitumens, without a proper 9 it looks pretty bleak. Ball is a 10, Waine is still too raw, McCowatt and Piscopo are more suited to playing slightly behind or wide of a centre forward, and Sotirio is a donkey. Getting a striker was crucial and not something that can wait three or four months

I think this is fair, we really lacked some physicality up front on Sunday, was all a little lightweight especially as you say once we started throwing crosses in later on

Incoming Watto return (I actually think he may suit this system)
