"But Talay said he would like to keep the former Hamburg product at the club beyond this season and suggested the ball was in Steinmann's court regarding an extension.
"Matti Steinmann is one of those ones we'll still continue on, he's done a fantastic job for us this season and I've had a chat with him on what he wants to do," Talay said."
With Macarthur starting to poach players, and the Aussie talent starting to be spread very thinly amoung the other 11 teams, you'd expect the Nix with exactly the same squad (with improvements to the ability of the young players) would be an even more serious contender next season.
DeVere, Piscopo, Devlin, Wilson, Sotirio....
Not exactly sure what your point is, but only two of those players (Piscopo and Devlin) would be any cause for concern if they were playing against the Nix. As the Aussie playing stocks are spread thin, the inherent advantage of only the Nix being able to sign the best NZ talent as locals becomes a pretty large advantage.
