The question is not whether Ali Syed is a crook, an issue to which I'm leaning towards "yes on the balance of probabilities, but we'll see", the question is whether Terry is, to use the vernacular, "boned". No-one sensible, and not even Nippert, has raised any good suggestions of where the $4m to pay off the tax guys came from. Perhaps there's more where that came from.
The other issue is that "Terry has been so damaged by this that he can't credibly run a football club any more". WTF? That kind of talk is exactly what the Burgesses and the Nipperts of this world want to impart - the idea that if these god-almighty purveyors of journalistic smack want you to dislike someone, you will by god conform.
(I have seen elsewhere that Ali Syed's money comes from laundering funds for the Hindu equivalent of Brian Tamaki. So maybe there are financial issues at that end, rather than WGA being nothing but a Ponzi scheme. I still have an open mind.)Doloras2011-04-28 08:56:41
